Nissan is proud of a new version of the X-trail that caters to dogs and their owners and thats all well and good but this image they use feels more “dawn of the planet of the dogs” to me.

Is that a TV in the back for the dogs? And why the quilted fabric? Is Nissan trying to make shit more difficult to clean?

Literally.

I like that the dogs have a padded and quilted area to roam complete with air vents and a TV while the human pups are strapped in behind a cage.

I feel like most dogs would rather have access to the people in the passenger area.

I’d put the kids in the trunk, much prefer the company of dogs

Planet of the Doges sounds like a great place. Much improvement. Such pleasantness. Wow.

They would. The real problem comes when they try to share the driver’s seat with you. If my dog rode in the car on a regular basis, the escalade would have cage in place limiting them to the cargo area. I have to remind both of my dogs that neither of them are old enough to drive.

Well yes, that could be a problem. But I know my dog would likely just start whining in the “cage”.

Subaru has catered to dogs for many years in Japan, I even have a blue subie bandana with paws and emblems on it my dog wears sometimes. I got it at some event there. Some models even have spots for small dogs to be stored, mostly like Kei cars I think.
